Paci

Head of Operations & Growth

- Tennis Australia Club Professional Coach (undertaking)

- John is a full time tennis coach who is currently working as Head of Operations & Growth for POWA Tennis. John manages and organises all bookings along with the development of new and fundamental programs.

- Experience running multiple tennis clubs including Pakenham Regional Tennis Centre, St John's Club Heidelberg and La Trobe University Tennis Club. 

- Heavily involved in Coach Development at Tennis Australia and the delivery of inclusion programs along with streamlining junior players into competition both internally and externally.

- Successfully coached an athlete to the semi-finals of the National Wheelchair Championships and worked with an athlete on the ATP Tour

- John is looking to grow the inclusion space and offer a variety of programs at a variety of times

- Currently working with a player at POWA who is learning Blind/Soundball tennis

Andrew Peake

High Performance Coach

Andrew is a full time professional tennis coach who has a passion for developing player’s games to their full potential. He has been involved in the game of tennis for over 30 years both as a coach and player.  Andrew established his successful coaching business back in 1995 and it is still operating today.

Andrew worked alongside and 1995 Australian Tennis Coach of the Year Anthony Lett for 4 years whilst he was establishing his own business during that same time period and successfully completed his Level 1 Coaching Certificate in 1995 under the guidance of the TCAV.

He has held numerous coaching contracts throughout tennis clubs both in the Northern & Western suburbs of Melbourne and other club contracts including the area of Macedon Ranges.

Andrew also obtained his Tennis Australia Club Professional qualifications from 2008 onwards and completed his Level 2 Coaching Certificate with Tennis Victoria back in 1999.  In 2018 he was awarded a Level 3 High Performance Certificate by the AATC.

His expertise in coaching relates specifically to teaching and training players to have a clear mind and being able to focus 100% during all tennis sessions. He has worked with young beginners to high level nationally ranked tournament players.

  • Macedon Ranges Victorian Zone Squad for seven years, including 3 winning seasons.

  • Development of a 2 court church club into an eight court council club and increasing junior teams and players from under 30 to over 150 in a two year period.

  • Successful operation as tournament director of many Tennis Victoria sanctioned tournaments.

  • Involvement in nearly every Tennis Australia on court and off court coaching program since 1999 including Hot Shots, Mum’s In Tennis, Get Your Racquet On, Tournament Planner, Milo Tennis, Tennis in Schools, Coaching Conferences & Professional Development workshops.

John Xue

Senior Coach

John is a full time professional tennis coach at POWA Tennis. He has been involved in the game of tennis for 20+ years as both a player and a coach.

​

John works with a variety of clientele such as beginner kids, competing juniors and adults as well as tennis aficionados. John organises in house social competitions for all our players which are in very high demand. John has retained many ongoing clients over his many years of coaching, with many travelling from afar. He offers lessons at a wide span of time slots and days. 

​

John delivers lessons in both Mandarin and in English.

​

John is Tennis Australia Club Professional qualified.

Alex Demiri

Senior Coach

Alex is a full time professional tennis coach at POWA Tennis. He has been involved in the game of tennis for 15+ years as both a player and a coach.

​

Alex still competes in national level tournaments and travels as a Coach on POWA Tennis trips to various regional tournaments where he teams up with our players in doubles.

​

Alex works with the widest demographic of players at POWA, coaching those as young as 4, up to beginner adults. Alex also has years of experience working with Special Needs players, particularly players with autism. Alex is extremely well received in this space due to his patience and understanding of all our players varying needs. Alex also runs the Saturday morning coaching and makes the time to watch all the players competing for the club.

Alex is Tennis Australia Level 1 Qualified and is studying for his Junior Development Qualification.

Summer Rodriguez Jones

Senior Coach

Summer is a part-time professional tennis coach at POWA Tennis. 

​

Summer competes in G2 Tennis Victoria Winter Pennant and in national level tournaments, with many finals appearances across singles and doubles.

​

Summer currently works on a Monday across all types of groups and private lessons. Summer is extremely knowledgable and can coach players of all standards. The lessons are delivered with precise and easy to understand communication. Summer's personable nature makes tennis learning fun and productive, especially for first time kids and adults.

 

Summer also trains on a Friday night in the POWA Performance Squads to keep up her competitive outlet.

Summer is Tennis Australia Junior Development Qualified.

Tom 

Neylon

Senior Coach

Tom is a part-time tennis coach, currently working at POWA Tennis multiple days a week. This is to balance with his playing career and study. Tom is aiming to receive a scholarship for tennis at U.S College.

​

Tom competes in national level tournaments and is ranked within the Top 250 players in the country. He represents Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club in the top Grade 1 pennant league.

​

Tom is exceptional at adjusting to the specific requirements of all players. He uses practical and personal examples in his lessons that have proven outcomes. Kids learn and have fun through visual activities, whereas adults benefit greatly from hitting with him during their lessons in open drills.

​

Tom trains with Head Coach - Stefan Woolley and is a player in the top POWA Squad offered.

​

Tom is Tennis Australia Level 1 qualified.

Asbjorn Williamson

Junior Coach

Asbjorn coaches both juniors and our UTR 6+ squad. Asbjorn also offers high level hitting sessions.

​

Asbjorn competes nationally and in Grade 1 Tennis Victoria Winter Pennant for Eildon Park Tennis Club.

Simon Young

Senior Coach

Simon is a full time professional tennis coach, currently working at POWA Tennis multiple days a week. This is to balance with his playing career and study.

​

Simon competes in national level tournaments in Australia. He represents Eildon Park Tennis Club in Grade 2 Pennant. 

​

Simon spent 18 months training and living in Barcelona, Spain at the Elite Tennis Academy. This experience has given him a wealth of knowledge and provides a unique edge to philosophies in his coaching. 

​

Upon returning from Spain, Simon continued to show his commitment to professional development by completing his TA Junior Development Coaching course. Simon now coaches a vast range of players from beginners to special needs. He uses practical and personal examples in his lessons that have proven outcomes. Kids learn and have fun through visual activities, whereas adults benefit greatly from hitting with him during their lessons in open drills.

Emma Frerker

Junior Coach

Emma predominantly coaches Hot Shots and helps transition younger players into competition.

Lachie Sammann

Junior Coach

Lachie predominantly coaches Hot Shots and helps transition younger players into competition.

Lachie competes in Tennis Victoria Winter Pennant and WDTA for Eildon Park Tennis Club.

​

Lachie trains with Senior Coach - Alex Demiri and is a player in the POWA Performance Squads on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Danijela Mijic

Senior Coach

Danijela is a full time professional tennis coach, working at POWA Tennis for holiday  clinics. She has been involved in the game of tennis for over 25+ years both as a coach and player. 

​

An elite player, Danijela reached a Junior Australian ranking inside the Top 50. She played out a full scholarship at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Georgia, USA. Danijela placed 3rd in the national championships in Hawaii. Currently ranked 5 in the world in her age group on the ITF Young Seniors, as well as being nationally ranked in Australia.

​

Danijela has a particular strength of being able to apply her exceptional coaching methodologies to all ages. She is passionate about enhancing players technique and how to utilise it in tactical outcomes. Lessons also involve education about the game of tennis and the value that it can bring to your life.

​

Danijela is Tennis Australia Junior Development Qualified, holds a BA Psychology (Honours), Diploma in Life Coaching, Cert III in Education Support and Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
